How to promote and profit from your
website
Firstly THANK YOU for visiting my website. For years I have been a small business owner trying to promote
and profit from the world wide web. At the beginning I had mixed success, but I have found a number of
useful tools and resources.
Don't worry if you have never built or maintained a website you are in the right place. My first website
cost over €3,000. It was developed by a "professional" and delivered no return. This was not entirely their fault,
I was a novice and thought "if you build it they will come"
I currently run a number of sites both in relation to real world businesses and online enterprises. And
these sites cost less than €10 each. Whether you want to promote your business, attract new customer, generate
extra income from online sales or want to become an internet millionaire the process is the same.
That's it. Seriously it is that simple. I know you will say it can't be. Let me reassure you I am NOT a
programmer, a graphic designer or anything like that. In fact I still type with two fingers. If I can do it anyone
can.
Creating a Website
On the left of the page you will see a link to the pages dedicated to building a website from scratch. Just remember by far the best way is to develop and run
the site yourself. This will not only save you money which is very important, but it will give you control of the
content on your site allowing you to update, add special offers and much more. I will discuss why this has so much
value later on.
Attracting Customers
Ok this seems like the most important aspect of having a site. Unfortunately if you have not created a website with the right content then all your efforts here will be in vain.
There are various ways to get customers, some cost money but many more are free and these customer are much more
valuable. For those of you who are new to websites SEO (Search Engine Optimisation) is
critical.
Making Sales
So after creating a website and attracting customers through SEO all you need to do
now is get paid. If you are promoting a real world business you will continue to
get paid in the normal manner. For online enterprises you need to be able to accept
payments from around the world securely and cost effectively. But maybe even more importantly you need your
customer to feel secure and confident in your product or service.
